Hi, recently I met with an issue with my excel program file. Sometime when I tries to save the excel documents, excel will prompt an error saying “There is not enough memory”. I have done repairing through the CD but the situation is still the same. I am frequently getting this error each time I tries to save the file. If you have any idea regarding this, then please suggest me….!

I am feeling glad to share the solution of this problem.  Just as a reference I am currently running Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Here is the solution that I have tried:

  1. Searched the registry (via regedit) for any reference to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15 and changed to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
please make a proper backup your registry items before doing any editing.
  2. Went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
  3. Right click Excel.exe
  4. Click “Troubleshoot Compatibility”
  5. Click “Try Recommended Settings”
  6. Went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
  7. Right click WinWord.exe
  8. Click “Troubleshoot Compatibility”
  9. Click “Try Recommended Settings”

Clicked on the excel file I was getting the error messages previously, Error did not popup, Excel launched. after that I did receive some error message about licensin.

  • Go to Control Panel –> Programs
  • Clicked on Office Professional 2013
  • Clicked Repair

Issue fixed!! Hope the solution that I shared will work for you!!
