Well, there are many cases seen when the XLS file gets corrupted, so this is the reason it is always recommended to backup your data.

However, if you haven’t back up your data then it is recommended to make use of the Open and Repair tool. This is an inbuilt utility to repair the corrupted, damaged XLS file.

Follow the steps to do so:

  1. Click on “Open” in the File Menu
  2. Then from the list, select corrupted excel file
  3. Now, from the drop-down list of the “Open” tab > choose “Open and Repair”
  4. Lastly, click on the “repair” button to repair the excel file.

But this won’t help you then, in this case, make use of the MS Excel Repair Tool, this is an advanced tool designed with the advanced algorithm to repair all sort of damages, corruption, and errors in the Excel file.
