Excel 2013: Crashes When Formatting A Cell

Hi friends,

I am running Win 7 Professional 64-bit with Excel 2013 and in this each time I got crashing issue every time I tries to do formatting a cell. It crashes in safe mode. My all other office 2013 applications seems to work fine. I want your help……so please kindly suggest me some solution.

I would like to suggest you to try the steps mentioned below:

Step 1:
You may also try disabling the hardware acceleration for excel and check it helps.

  • Open the Excel 2013 program.
  • Click on file,Options.
  • Go to the Advanced tab.
  • Under the Displaysection, Uncheck the box for ‘Disable hardware graphics acceleration’.
  • Click ok.

Step 2:

Right click on Excel (.exe) > Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes and check if it helps.
To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\Excel.exe
